FAQ

‘Where and when are the lessons held?’

Lessons are held in the Runzaal at Buurthuis Zilst in Veldhoven. Classes are on Wednesdays between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

‘Can I take lessons even if I have no prior experience?’

Yes, that’s definitely possible. I have several adult students who started later in life without ever having taken music lessons before, and they’re doing very well.

‘Can I choose what kind of music I play?’

In class, I use various piano methods to teach you the basics of playing the piano. In addition, there is room for your own input. If the original piece proves to be too difficult, I adapt the material so that it suits the student’s level.

‘At what age can piano lessons begin?’

Starting at age 7. Children younger than 7 often lack the concentration and necessary understanding required to learn to play the piano. From a motor skills perspective, 7 is also a good starting age.

‘Do I need to have my own piano at home? And what should it be like?’

To make decent progress, it’s essential that you have an instrument at home that you can play on. This doesn’t have to be a concert grand piano, though. An electronic instrument (keyboard or digital piano) equipped with touch-sensitive keys and a sustainpedal is perfectly adequate at the beginning. Once you’ve been playing for a while, it’s advisable to purchase a better digital piano or look for an acoustic piano. I can help you with this.

‘How much do the lessons cost, and how do I pay?’

You can find the lesson prices here. At the end of each month, you will receive an invoice via email with a payment request. It will list the lessons that occurred during that month, along with their costs.
